Julius Henderson’s understanding of young people, choices, pressure, and personal development began long before FutureTALEZ™.

Growing up in Compton and South Central Los Angeles, the difference between one path and another was never theoretical. Julius saw how quickly a decision, an influence, a relationship, or a moment of pressure could change the direction of a young person’s life. He also learned that what young people believe about themselves—and what they believe is possible for their future—can be just as powerful as the circumstances surrounding them.

Those experiences stayed with him.

His professional journey began working directly with young people in residential and behavioral environments. What started on the front lines eventually grew into leadership, where Julius moved from counselor to executive-level responsibility overseeing behavioral teams and professionals serving young people and families.

Along the way, he became deeply interested in a larger question:

What actually helps people change?

That question would shape the next two decades of his work.

For more than 20 years, Julius has designed and delivered training and development experiences across remarkably different environments—from youth and behavioral programs to sales organizations, technology teams, entrepreneurs, leadership groups, and executive coaching engagements.

His work has included instructional design, training development, facilitation, leadership development, performance coaching, executive coaching, speaking, authorship, and organizational consulting.

Different audiences. Different industries. Different challenges.

But Julius continued seeing the same human patterns.

People make better decisions when they can slow down enough to recognize what they are feeling, understand what is influencing them, see more than one possible response, consider consequences, and believe they have the ability to choose differently.

His career has been built around helping people do exactly that.

He has worked with young people navigating behavioral challenges, professionals trying to improve performance, sales teams learning to respond differently under pressure, leaders responsible for influencing entire organizations, and executives working through some of their most important decisions.

That range of experience gave Julius a unique perspective on learning and development: information alone rarely creates transformation. People need experiences that cause them to think, participate, practice, reflect, and apply what they are learning to real life.

The Work Continues

For Julius, FutureTALEZ represents a continuation of work that began decades ago: helping people see that the next decision matters—and that the future is rarely determined by one moment alone.

It is about helping young people become emotionally aware, deeper thinkers, more confident communicators, and more thoughtful decision-makers—while strengthening self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, relationship skills, perspective-taking, conflict resolution, and the ability to make responsible choices. 

It is about partnering with the people on the frontlines that serve them, giving them more tools and insight to better understand what may be happening beneath the surface. 

And ultimately, it is about creating more moments in which a young person can pause, see another possibility, and make a choice that moves their future forward.

Because choices become futures.
